City Hub Copenhagen Review A Cool Capsule Hotel

City Hub Copenhagen is a capsule hotel with a double bed. You have a choice of top or bottom (I got given a choice at check-in but this will depend on availability), All rooms are located on the ground floor so no stairs to lifts to get to your room.

There are no en suites at City Hub Copenhagen as all the bathrooms are shared. The bathrooms are same-sex only with multiple showers and toilets. There is also a sauna in the bathrooms which is for everyone. The male and female bathrooms connect to the same sauna so if you are a couple you can use the sauna together. Towels and toiletries are included.

There is a communal area in City Hub Copenhagen along with a bar. There is also a communal kitchen for you to use at your leisure. The communal area is quite small with not a lot of seating.

The bar is self-service. When you check in to City Hub Copenhagen you will receive a wristband that allows you access to your room. This wristband also allows you to put drinks on a tab and then when you check out you can pay the balance. You pour your own drinks which I thought was awesome.

Copenhagen Airport to City Hub Copenhagen

The quickest way to get from Copenhagen Airport to City hub Copenhagen is by taxi which will take just under 20 minutes.

The cheapest way to get from Copenhagen Airport to City Hub is by public transport. You can get the train from Copenhagen Airport to Central Copenhagen Station (which will take you 13 minutes) From there take the 26 bus towards Bellahøj and get off at Kingosgade (Vesterbrogade), this will take 5 minutes and is only 3 stops. The hotel is right there. Luckily this route contains minimal walking.

Copenhagen Pods

City Hub Copenhagen is considered a pod hotel as the rooms are small. There is very minimal storage for bags and belongings especially for two people. If you suffer from claustrophobia I wouldn’t suggest this hotel as it is cramped and you probably won’t feel very comfortable. However these pod hotels are unique and affordable, a good mix between a hostel and a hotel as you have some shared facilities but still get the social element and privacy.

City Hub Hotel Copenhagen

City Hub Copenhagen Check in:

All check-in is done via the computers situated at the entrance. It is all touch screen. You will need to pick up a wristband and scan it on the machine, this allows you to enter your room (how very high-tech). I also had the choice of if I wanted a top or bottom pod, I went for top.

There are staff on site to help if you encounter any problems. They mainly help with other bookings such as breakfast or any activities you would like to book if you want to.

If you want to leave your luggage they have lockers available that work with your wristband. Just don’t dispose of your wristband is you want to use this facility. It is free to leave your luggage in the designated lockers and no need to remember numbers (which is amazing).

When you want to leave you can check out on the screens in reception and return your wristband.

Pod Hotel Copenhagen

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at City Hub Copenhagen. It was my first time staying in a pod hotel and I would definitely stay in one again. If you are on a budget and don’t mind sharing a bathroom this may be a great option. It is perfect for someone who would like their own space and room and doesn’t mind the mind inconvenience of not having an en suite.
